I’m very much looking forward to next term: the beginning of my RLF Fellowship at Aston University.

There’s an exciting new partnership between Cheltenham Festivals and First Story, to bring the benefits of First Story to Gloucestershire. As part of this initiative, I am going to be working in a school in Cheltenham, which involves workshops with a group of students over two terms, and producing an anthology of their writing.

Here’s the setting for writing workshops at the Arvon Foundation at the Hurst, where I tutored a course at the beginning of July. The Hurst has been completely renovated – it’s an extraordinary place in a beautiful setting, and well worth visiting for a writing course.

I do so hope you have some writers in there. People who write for the writing, and not just to ‘be a writer’.
I remember my writing MA, and how narrow a lot of them were.

The RLF Fellowship isn’t about creative writing, Michael, it’s working with students from all disciplines, on any aspect of their writing that they need help with. Thanks for your interest!
