Foyle Young Poets deadline 31st July

Still the best opportunity around for young people writing poems, and an excellent opportunity for English teachers to promote poetry:

The Foyle Young Poets of the Year Award is making its final call to all poets aged 11-17 – entries to the prestigious poetry close on the 31st July. With over 7,300 young poets entering last year from an impressive 60 countries worldwide, it’s the one to beat!  Any young person writing in English can enter the competition, whether they have been writing for a long time or just started, all they need is a passionate engagement with words. The Foyle Young Poets of the Year Award 2013 is supported by the Foyle Foundation and is free to enter.
