Being a writer

Really good day at Ribston Hall on Thursday as part of the residency. So good to be able to visit schools more than once and build up a relationship with them.

Sometimes there’s a student in a workshop – you may have only been working with them for an hour or so – and you know that they have what it takes. Sometimes there’s more than one in the  same group. They engage with language in such a way that you know that they’re getting it – everything you say. And if they wanted to be a writer, and if they put the time in, they could.
